Incircles (2024)

"Incircles" is a study on dividing the plane into triangles and inscribing circles in those triangles. It is a continuation on my earlier exploration on Triangle Subdivisions, but instead of drawing the triangles that divide the plane, only the circles will be drawn. This results in rich and captivating compositions that I could never have made by hand.

"Incircles" combines my interest in geometry, mathematics and programming. I love to study and draw the basic geometry theorems. It is just beautiful and satisfying to get the construction right by a hand drawing. However, using programming on the computer allows me to explore a whole new space of possibilities that is not possible to do by hand. "Incircles" draws 262,136 circles on the screen.

"Incircles" will be released on Art Blocks Studio on July 12th, 2024, as a long form digital art collection. Every individual output is generated by a single algorithm and can be rendered in the web browser by the JavaScript code.
